Q&A

Q

I want to get a Vibrator but ive never purchased one before, how do I choose one?

A

The many array of vibrator styles, sizes and materials can be daunting. Answering these questions can help cut through the information overload and prevent regretful purchases.

  • What do you want to use it for?
  • Do you want to use it in your clitoris, your vagina or your anus?

Anything that vibrates feels good around the clitoral area.

  • Do you want the full feeling of penetration and the clitoral buzz?

Dual action vibrators mean never having to choose one at the expense of the other.

  • Do you have a difficult time having an orgasm?

Electric Vibrators are the most powerful so you may want to try these first.

  • Do you want it for anal play?

Make sure the toy has a flared base so it doesn't slip all the way in, its best to get one designed for anal play.

  • How strong do you want your vibration to be?

If you never used one this is hard to answer. If when you masturbate you do it with a firm hand on the clitoris rather than lightly you are probably going to prefer a stronger vibration. Pick a toy with variable speed control so you can play around and discover what you like . Plug in vibrators are the most powerful while jelly vibes that use 1 battery are the least intense.

  •  How much do you want to spend?

Bullets are the least expensive vibrators that we sell, they are quite strong and good looking, some people like to start with a few of the cheaper ones and test them out. But if a deluxe spinning vibe that flutters and satisfies both areas is within your budget and you feel it will bring your orgasm after orgasm skip the preliminaries and go for it!

  •  How big do you want it to be?

Discreet vibes like the pocket rocket have a lot of appeal for those on the go. If your vibe is never going to leave your bedside drawer size may not be a concern. If you plan to use the vibrator for penetration the width of the toy may be just as important as the length. If you are not sure of the width go smaller rather than larger so you know your toy will fit.

Once you have decided on a shortlist and have 3 or 4, cast thinking out the window and pick the one that appeals to your sexy side, it may be the prettiest, the kinkiest or the most familiar, pick the one that speaks to you.

Q

How do I Choose a dildo?

A

There are a huge selection of Dildo's available, the main area to look at is the width of the dildo, so if its going inside you choose one that is similar to a penis, cucumber or number of fingers you have enjoyed previously.

If your not sure go smaller, if your toy is to big it becomes useless. If you really want a big one consider a dildo that starts small at the top and gradually widens in thickness, it will be easier to work in.

Consider the angle if its curved when worn in a harness it will arch up an away from the body, if it is straight it will aim toward the floor boards. Curved dildo's tend to have easier control and provide better G spot stimulation. If you are using a dildo in a harness a dildo with a flared unbendable base is best.

You can also have a dildo that's realistic or  made from other forms such as glass.

If its to use with multiple partners get something in the middle less than 4cm wide and 6-7 Inches long. Narrow your choices and then pick the dildo that turns you on the most.

If you cant decide get more than one!

Q

Is there any porn that is more focused to women's desires than men?

A

Yes and there are many great women porn directors such as Candida Royalle and Erika lust.

Porn for men is often focused on gaining the money shot or the ejaculation shot which often women find a turn off. There are many women focused films looking at the emotion and the sexual interaction in a very different way. They focus on the women in the film climaxing and the men are generally better looking. Please see our erotic films for some erotica solely aimed at women.

Q

How do I orgasm if I've never had one before?

A

Many women have never had an orgasm, some are not sure if they have or not. Sometimes they have not had the right stimulation, other times they are stopped by sexual shame often its both.

We suggest spending good quality time masturbating, arouse yourself by using your hand and a vibrator on your clitoris and by exploring your inner self with your fingers and dildos whatever helps you connect with your feelings of desire and your bodies sensations.

Make sure you use lube and start by caressing yourself as you would a lover, as the heat builds use the wetness from your vagina to rub up and around your clitoris. If you need more lube let it flow....find a stroking rhythm that feels good and stick to it.

Usually once you have found the right motions, rhythm and repetition should make it happen. If manual stimulation doesn't get you over the peak apply vibration, an extra oomph from a vibrator might be just the thing to take you on a fantastic trip.

See our designer sex toy range of vibrators for a wide variety to choose from.

Q

I want to be submissive in sex but not in the rest of my relationship. How can we keep it separate?

A

One way is to mark the beginning and end of a scene. A collar is a great marker. When the collar is in place so is the dominant submissive playtime. When the collar is off you are back to being equal.

Q

Can you use silicone lube with silicone toys?

A

You should not use a silicone lubricant with silicone toys as it will make the surface sticky rather than smooth. Water based lubricants are best to use with silicone toys.

Q

Do Women really like Anal sex?

A

Yes many women love it, partly because its fun and its a little bit naughty in play and women enjoy playing at being bad.

There are also sensitive nerves, orgasmic muscles, engorged fleshy sex organs, surrounding and inside your bottom. The labia on the back of the vagina, the perineum and the external anal area are all very sensitive to the touch.

Inside, the anal cavity lies right next to the vagina and the wall separating them is thin. You can therefore stimulate the g spot through the wall of the rectum. This can just as easily be done through firm touch and be just as effective as through the vagina, it feels different though because anal penetration hits all the anal nerves on the way. The anal sphincter's opening is tighter than the vagina's and penetration can feel more intense.

Q

Am I a sicko for getting turned on by bondage and domination?

A

People who like bondage often feel concerned that they are not undertaking a normal practice. A significant proportion of the population gets off on bondage.

Power and sex go together, you can be happy and emotionally healthy and still enjoy all the kinky sex that you want. The important question to ask yourself, is my behaviour safe (no physical harm), sane (no psychological harm)and consensual (everyone is in agreement in what's happening) If the answer is yes then go for it enjoy yourself.

Q

Ive purchased leather lingerie and a vinyl PVC corset, but im not sure of the care instructions? Can you help?

A

  • All garments can be hand washed in water with a little detergent. To prolong the life of your undergarments do not hang them in the sun but rather let them air dry in shade. Some of the material can shrink so I would not recommend using the dryer.
  • If your garment is made from PVC Hand wash in warm water with a small amount of detergent (use liquid rather than soap flakes, as they can stick to the PVC). Make sure you wash inside & outside of the garment. Rinse inside & out thoroughly in cool water until all soap has been removed. Hang to drip-dry inside out.
  • When the inside is dry, turn right way round & allow PVC side to dry. If necessary, polish with silicone spray, e.g. Armour-All, for squeak-free wear you can also wipe down the outer surface of your PVC clothes with a light layer of silicone-based lube. Do not put in the drier as the garment will melt.
  • PVC is best stored in a garment bag away from other clothing, keep away from open flames as PVC vinyl is very flammable. If your leather clothing or leather lingerie becomes wet, let it dry at room temperature.
  • If your leather clothing or leather lingerie becomes stained, gently blot liquid stains with a clean cloth. Do not cover your leather clothing or leather lingerie with plastic. The plastic will cause the leather to dry out
  • Avoid exposing your leather to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time.

Q

How long will my vibrator last?

A

It depends on the quality of the vibrator and the care you give it and frequency that you use it. Quality Vibrators such a medisil or Hitachi magic wand can last up to 20 years. High quality toys can run for years as well while cheaper models my stop working in a few months.

Q

How Can I get my lover to tell me what he/she likes?

A

Sometimes a simple question, what do you want can be overwhelming.

If your sweetheart cant answer, try giving them a choice, do you prefer this or this?

Always be positive in your feedback and be patient.

Some people are not comfortable with sex talk and some people loose there words when they are feeling good.

Notice the physical signs of pleasure, rapid breathing, flushing and muscle tension. They are normally a great indicator of what they like!

Q

Why would anyone want pain as foreplay?

A

The pain in SM play isn't like the pain from bumping your elbow. In SM it is used to generate endorphins and to show devotion to there partner and test there limits. The pain isn't the end but the first element in a all chemical process of transformation.

Q

My Clitoris is two inches long is that normal?

A

This question is asked about body parts or sometimes about behaviours (I prefer anal to vaginal sex) Whatever your thing is your probably not the only one, you may be one of a few. A better question to ask yourself would be is this hurting anyone? If the answer is no then its okay no matter how common or not. The pressure to be normal is a real killer for sexual happiness which really relies on you letting go.

Q

My Vibrator heats up is that dangerous?

A

Vibrators do heat up as they work. Some women take a long time to climax sometimes causing their toy to overheat! A few tips to help, use the vibrator outside your bed  covers to allow it to be cooler. Take a break if you are worried about the heat. If your vibrator is smoking however it is defective and you should buy a new one.
